What is Swap Magic?

Swap Magic boot disks has been designed with one purpose in mind - booting backups/import games. In the Swap Magic 3.6 Plus package, there are two discs. One disc is for booting CD-R games, and another is for booting DVD-R games.
In short, the procedure for booting a backup with Swap Magic is like this:
1. Insert a Swap Magic Disc in your PlayStation2 (CD is for booting CD backups/import games. DVD versionis for booting DVD backups/import games)
2. When there are two options(Load Program and Video Mode)on the screen, that is the time to swap the disc
3. Use Flip Top Cover or Slide-Tool to eject the CD tray
4. Insert your CD or DVD backup
5. Use Flip Top Cover or Slide-Tool to put the CD tray back
6. Press X on joy pad and the game will start

Magic Switch Installing tips

Here is the tips of installing the Tool C(the biggest parts of Magic Switch). Firstly, put the Tool C in the gap. But, before you totally push it into the gap, please push it to the left first like the picture shown above(you can click the pic to enlarge)and then push it in till it goes no further downwards. If succeed, the laser lens will move downwards provided that your PSTwo is power on. If not succeed, the laser lens will not move and you need to redo all the steps again.

How to install by the CD image :

First you need to download the files (SMBOOT.ZIP)

First you need to unzip the file (SMBOOT.ZIP). Then burn the image file (PS2.ISO) into a CD and boot it with the SwapMagic3.3. By reference with the file list found in the "..\SMBOOT\FILE.LST", files in folder "..\SMBOOT" will be installed into the slot1 memory card. However, you can edit the "..\SMBOOT\FILE.LST" to remove a line of "FILExx=XXXXXXX.XXX;1" to install less file, or replace any of the files in folder "..\SMBOOT" with your prefer.

How to launch:

Put the memory card in slot 1 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mc0:/SWAPMAGIC/SWAPMAGIC.ELF" is found and it will be launched automatically.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mcx:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT0.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+L1" press.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mcx:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT1.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+L2" press.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mc1:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT2.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+R1" press.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mc1:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT3.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+R2" press.
